Richard Sears is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in individual, child/adolescents, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in the Texas Hill Country community of Wimberley serving this and surrounding communities. He also has obtained other specialty credentials as a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider (LSOTP) and is a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist (CART).
With over 20 years experience as a therapist, and a graduate of The University of North Texas, one of the leading universities in Counseling Development and training. He is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among his areas of expertise are treatment of depression and anxiety, managing child and adolescent/development problems, relationship and interpersonal conflict issues, and other more severe emotional/behavioral problems.
In addition, Richard has presented at National and International conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of Behavior Management in the Home, School and Treatment Facility; Treatment of Sexual Perpetrators with Developmental Delays; Depression and Suicide Indicators at home and school; and alternative Play and Recreational Therapies/Activities to improve interpersonal skills and problem solving.

He integrates complimentary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. On a more personal note, Richard is a husband and father of two with personal interests in competitive activities and sports, nature and outdoor activities, and enjoys writing and reading suspense and thrillers. He enjoys his profession and life in Wimberley after previous careers in Hospital Administration, Education and Coaching. He is often described as a person who is open and accepting of others, permitting others to maintain differing values and opinions with respect, all the while maintaining his own personal values and ideals that support the growth and development of traditional emotional, spiritual and occupational goals.
